Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality as well as a television philanthropist, author and TV philanthro for over ten years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an openly-liberal newsmagazine online. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington came to England with her family when she was age 16. When she attended Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. It was her first time as a student from outside the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She joined the conservative syndicated author after her graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years following, she launched an online platform for voice that provided criticisms of political situations. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to share their opinions regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she announced in 2003 that she would run as an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of an Detroit campaign to increase the use of the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes identified her as being the 12th most influential female within the field of media in 2009 and Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media at the time. The year 2011 saw AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant as well as a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both her parents the bond between them which shaped her. Even in her early childhood, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she is well-known. The British native moved to England when she was sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of The Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to serve as the president. After graduating in 1972, she received her master's degree in Economics. She was a journalist in the media, as well as host of a television show and as a columnist shortly after her graduation. In addition, she appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing her own books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
