Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musical family on the 9th of August, 1963, in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. As a child, she sang in her New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. At the age of she reached the age of 15, Houston had sung professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother for Chaka Khan's song from 1978 Im Every Woman. Then, she performed background vocals for Jermaine Jackson and Lou Rawls and her mother. Her singing with New York-based band Material brought attention to major record labels which included Arista. They signed her with Arista in 1983, where she continued to work for the rest of her professional career. Whitney Houston, her debut album that debuted in 1985 was the most-sold album by a debut singer. It featured a number of hits such as How Will I Know You Give Good Love, Saving All My Love For you and The Most Beautiful Love of All. It allowed her to achieve seven US chart-topping songs in succession, a feat that surpasses the Beatles. The album was sold to three million people in during its initial year, and over 25 million worldwide. Her first six Grammys. The Whitney 1987 release, which included the songs Where Do Broken Hearts and I Wanna Dance With Somebody as hits, helped build upon her success. However, the 1992 movie The Bodyguard sealed her spot as one of the most successful musicians of all-time. While the film wasn't very well received, nor did her performance, the soundtrack to the film's Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You was able to reach the top of both the albums and singles charts in America for a period of time. She sold 44,000,000 copies. The same year, she was married ex-New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is employed by CNN as both a reporter, anchorwoman and political correspondent.
